Duke Bakery has been established in the historic middletown neighborhood since 1951. During the 73 years Duke Bakery has graced the corner of 9th and Henry Streets, the bakery has been the local gathering place for many families and friends. During the pandemic in 2020 they took the time to add to the outdoor patio area and commissioned a former bakery employee, Katy Kratschmer, to paint the mural in hopes that it would lift people’s spirits as they stopped by. Patrons are encouraged to take pictures in front of it and post to social media.
