Senior Services Plus, Inc. (SSP) is a 501(c) non-for-profit organization established to enrich the lives of older adults through programs and services, for everyone aging successfully. SSP has been providing services for older adults since 1973. Our mission is: To provide opportunities and resources to individuals as they age.
Senior Services Plus, Inc. offers many services to older adults including:
Non-Medical In-Home Care – provides clients with assistance to live independently in the comfort of their homes. This includes assistance with cleaning, cooking, bathing, shopping, errands, etc. (Ext. 410)
Wellness Center – that features state-of-the-art, commercial-grade fitness equipment. Senior Services Plus also offers fitness classes including group classes, personal training, and Rock Steady Boxing, an international 501(c) program dedicated to helping those with Parkinson’s disease. (Ext. 109)
School House Grill – open to the public and offers an extensive variety of fresh, nutritional menu choices. In addition, the Grill offers daily menu specials with special pricing for our customers over 60 years of age. (Ext. 101)
Meals On Wheels – a program that delivers meals to homebound older adults. Meals On Wheels services are available in Madison and St. Clair Counties. All meals are prepared at our Alton, IL site and are approved by a licensed dietitian. (Ext. 141)
Foster Grandparent Program – provides an opportunity for volunteers aged 55 and over to stay active by mentoring children in local schools and Head Start programs. Volunteers receive an hourly stipend and mileage reimbursement. (Ext. 135)
Information & Assistance – a department within SSP where older adults can learn about and apply for public benefit programs such as: LIHEAP (energy assistance), SNAP (food stamps), Benefit Access Program, as well as applications for Medicaid, Medicare, and more. (Ext. 119)
Transportation Program – provides rides within Madison County for medical appointments, grocery trips, SSP events, and more. (Ext. 107)
Home Repair & HVAC – trustworthy, affordable home repair services ranging from heating and cooling, electrical repairs, plumbing repairs and more. These services are offered for private pay to anyone in the community, however there is sometimes grant assistance available for qualifying applicants. (Ext. 149)
Community Resources – provides assistance within the home completing small home maintenance tasks such as changing lightbulbs, replacing batteries, tech assistance, and more. (Ext. 138)
Ombudsman Program – provides advocacy for older adults and disabled adults who reside in long-term care facilities. This program helps residents get relief from abuse, neglect, financial exploitation, and inadequate living conditions. (Ext. 127)
