Nancy DeGrand Memorial at 326 Belle Street
Year Dedicated: 2010
Artist: The Randolph Rose Collection

Nancy DeGrand served The Hayner Public Library District, primarily as Chief Financial Officer, for 32 years. After her retirement, she served as a board member until her passing in 2006. In recognition of her tireless dedication and innumerable contributions, a memorial statue was dedicated to Nancy. The lost-wax bronze statue from the Randolph Rose Collection of a young girl holding a small songbird in her raised palm is located at the flagpole’s base at the corner of Fourth and Belle streets, across from the downtown library and behind the original Hayner Library. Her expression of wonder and delight is the perfect testament to Nancy’s legacy of wonder and delight in books, libraries, family, and friends.
