Sunset Mural on the warehouse at 401 Piasa St.
Avery Houser – Artist / Russ Smith – Muralist
Commissioned as part of the public art mini-grant initiative spearheaded by Alton Main Street, this mural was conceptualized by artist Avery Houser and painted by Russ Smith on the outside of the warehouse of The Lovejoy, owned by Smith. Alton Main Street received the Lieutenant Governor Award for Design in recognition of the organization’s mini-mural grant program, which also funded the murals at Riverbend Yoga at 100 W. Third St. and transformed a utility box in the 100 block of Third Street into a work of art.
